Overview

• The role requires essential experience in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour suits. Helpful experience includes class action and/or PAGA litigation and familiarity with California civil procedure. Limited experience is required in employment counseling, covering policy and manual construction, employee discipline/termination, and wage and hour counseling. The position will focus mostly on litigation and associated counseling.
• The practice provides junior lawyers with significant client contact and opportunities to run cases, with the expectation that the lawyer in this position will be able to run some cases immediately.
• Full-time associates are expected to strive for at least 2,000 billable hours per year on client matters.
• While travel is generally not extensive, some work outside California may necessitate travel for hearings and depositions.
• The Labor & Employment practice advises national corporations in both national and California-specific litigation, frequently defending class, collective, and representative actions, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, whistleblower, pay equity, and executive compensation claims, and conducting sensitive internal investigations involving high-risk allegations.
