Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center invites applications for the 2027 Buckeye Pathways Summer Internship Program. This 10-week paid internship exposes students to multiple health-system areas and pairs interns with an Executive Leader mentor.

Open to current juniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher, pursuing majors in Business, Healthcare, Public Health, Psychology or related fields. Housing is provided for non-local students; 20-hour shifts are not expected to exceed 38 hours per week.

The BPSI is a 10 week summer internship program that will expose the students to various areas of the health system. * Must be currently enrolled as a junior in a bachelor's degree program who seeks to support the mission of our program.* Must be in good academic standing and have a minimum overall college GPA of 3.0.* Students must major in Business, Healthcare, Public Health, Psychology, or other healthcare related majors.* Students must be available for 38 hours in-person per week.* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.* This program is open to all students who meet the above criteria. It is particularly well-suited for those who have demonstrated an interest in public service, health access for all, and/or community engagement. We also encourage applications from students who may not have had previous exposure to healthcare leadership and are eager to explore the field further.The summer intern(s) will work in a fast-paced team environment and finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of the health system. Up to (6) interns will be paired with an Executive Leader who will mentor the student throughout the internship. In addition to leadership mentoring each intern will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, participate in personal and professional development, opportunities to volunteer, monthly lunch and learns and various activities throughout the summer. The project focus areas include, but are not limited to Hospital Administration, Operations, Human Resources, Ambulatory Services and Mental and Behavioral Health. At the conclusion of the internship, students will have the opportunity to present their summer experience to senior leaders.The OSUWMC Pathways internship program is a paid summer internship.
