Job summary

Kinder Morgan's BOLT Intern Program offers a summer internship to gain hands-on experience in the energy industry within a renowned energy infrastructure company. You will contribute to meaningful projects that support our mission of delivering energy to improve lives and create a better world in North America.

You will draft papers, assist with outreach, and develop informational materials while collaborating with the public affairs team and state-focused economic impact documentation.

• White Paper Project research and drafting.

• Assist in outreach by scheduling speaking engagements for executives.

What We Are Looking For

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan's elite summer internship program. Do you want to spend your summer gaining hands-on experience in the energy industry while enhancing your professional and interpersonal skills? At Kinder Morgan, you will have the opportunity to do just that by participating in meaningful projects that support our vision of delivering energy to improve lives and create a better world.

What You Will Do

POSITION DESCRIPTION

• White Paper Project:
  • Research a critical issue impacting the energy industry with implications for Kinder Morgan.
  • Draft research paper that makes a compelling, factual case for the necessity and positive impacts of energy development in the United States.
• Legislative Reports:
  • Compile, organize and update the weekly report on legislative and regulatory activity of importance to Kinder Morgan.
• Project Support:
  • Conduct background research and develop reports on topics in support of the public affairs team's outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Draft meeting or event briefs, summarizing logistical and background information for the public affairs team.
  • Draft after action reports summarizing key meetings and events conducted by the public affairs team.
• Develop Informational Materials:
  • Help to update state fact sheets listing key information about the company’s assets and economic impacts in states where Kinder Morgan operates.
• Outreach:
  • Contact prospective organizations to evaluate and schedule speaking engagements for company executives to help further Kinder Morgan’s thought leadership program.
