Primary Responsibilities

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach social studies at the high school level
Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

Hold a master’s degree in Education and/or the specific subject area
Possess endorsement to teach dual enrollment courses

Salary: $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to 2025-2026 budget considerations)
