Job summary

Mason County Schools seeks Elementary Interventionists on an as-needed basis to provide targeted support before, during, and after school at Beale locations. Positions are contract/hourly, aligned with federal funding availability.

These roles require appropriate teacher certification and will be compensated for direct services to students outside regular work hours as needed, with schedule set by the principal. Confidentiality and documentation are essential to success.

Responsibilities

  • Interventionists provide direct services to identified students.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Document interventions and maintain WVTSS documentation.
  • Keep session records: student name, grade, area, times.
  • Prepare a master list of students with evaluation results.
  • Report progress to administrators and teachers.
  • Work schedule determined by principal.
  • Be approved by the Mason County Board of Education.
  • Any other duties necessary for program and/or student success as determined by the building administrator and/or Director of Federal Programs.

POSITION: Elementary Interventionists, as needed basis, before, during, after school
LOCATION: Beale (3) Positions, based on need and availability of Federal Funding
Salary:

$35.00 per hour for services provided during the school day
$50.00 per hour for services provided outside the regular work-day/Afterschool

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Teacher Certification required to deliver services:

  • Elementary Education (3600)
  • Multi-Subjects K-8 (3605)
  • Reading Specialist ( 4300)
  • Reading (4301)
  • Multi-Categorical Special Education (E/BD, MI, and SLD) (4115)
  • Emotional/Behavior Disorders (4111 and 4112)
  • Mental Impaired (Mild/Moderate) (4113)
  • Specific Learning Disabilities (4105)
  • Gifted (4500)
JOB DUTIES:
  1. Mason County Schools full-time teachers will only be paid for sessions outside their regular work-day schedule (8 hour day).
  2. Interventionists will only be compensated for direct services to students.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  4. Provide Service as per individual school plan.
    • Maintain WVTSS Documentation
    • Document specific research-based interventions used
  5. Provide direct intervention services to identified students in the area of need.
  6. Keep records of sessions to include:
    • Student name and grade
    • Area of intervention – subject (reading, math)
    • Session begin and end time
    • Prepare a master list of students with evaluation results (Pre and Post Test Scores)
    • Report information on forms provided
  7. Communicate progress with administrators and classroom teachers
  8. Be approved by the Mason County Board of Education to provide services.
  9. Any other duties necessary for program and/or student success as determined by the building administrator and/or Director of Federal Programs
  10. Work schedule as determined by principal
Roles not permitted while being compensated as an Interventionist:
  1. Substituting
  2. Covering classes and/or planning times
  3. Covering teachers' duties
  4. Office Duties
  5. Chaperoning students
