Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Utility in St. Louis, MO for 1st shift. Wage is $20.00 per hour with a potential for hire. Work hours are 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, and the role involves operating fabrication equipment and producing parts per orders.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to read blueprints. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, and overtime may be required.

• Training and cross-training within the department.
• Maintain machinery with routine maintenance and lubrication.
• Follow safety rules and quality standards.

Position Title: Utility

Wage: $20.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday)

QPS Employment Group has a great Utility position available at a company in St. Louis, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Utility Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment
• Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts
• Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches
• Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using various manufacturing equipment to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blueprints
• Complete project work as needed involving the assembly of parts that require the use of hand tools, paint accessories and mechanical devices
• Complete work order paperwork
• Perform in-process inspection according to standard procedures
• Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
• Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
• Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use
• Make suggestions to improve production and order processing efficiency
• Assist with training other team members
• Follow safety rules and quality standards

Utility Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required
• Prior experience in a manufacturing industry preferred
• Excellent math skills
• Ability to understand drawing and blueprints
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work overtime as needed
