Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Fabricator/Welder/Fitup for a 1st shift role in Illinois. You will weld and fabricate according to blueprints, read drawings, and maintain quality during assembly.

Expected to work 10 hours/day, 5 days/week with breaks, and enjoy consistent full-time hours in a supportive team environment. Experience with MIG welding and occasional TIG welding is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic math including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly and up to 20 lbs to shoulder height.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding of steel components; occasional TIG welding as needed.
• Fabricate and weld parts according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read, understand, and interpret part drawings accurately.
• Polish and finish welds to meet quality standards.
• Operate fabrication equipment including shears and brakes.
• Perform minor pushing, pulling, and twisting as needed during fabrication tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Position Title: Fabricator/Welder/Fitup

Salary: $22-$30 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 10 hours per day, 5 days per week (includes 3 paid breaks totaling 40 minutes)

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity for a Fabricator/Welder/Fitup position. This is a 1st shift position with consistent full-time hours.

Fabricator/Welder/Fitup Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform MIG welding of steel components; occasional TIG welding as needed.
• Fabricate and weld parts according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read, understand, and interpret part drawings accurately.
• Polish and finish welds to meet quality standards.
• Operate fabrication equipment including shears and brakes.
• Perform minor pushing, pulling, and twisting as needed during fabrication tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Fabricator/Welder/Fitup Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist level (2-5 times per day) and up to 20 lbs. to shoulder height (2-4 times per day).
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting (5-10 times per day).
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents.
• Ability to work with minimal use of mobile stairs (approximately 2 times per day).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
