Job summary

QPS Employment Group is partnering with a manufacturing company in St. Louis, MO to fill a daytime Utility position on the 1st shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Pay is $20.00 per hour with opportunity for hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
• Able to use measuring instruments.

• Willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment.
• Operate tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Place and secure work pieces using clamps and wrenches.
• Load and manufacture parts per Work Orders and blueprints.
• Assemble parts with hand tools and mechanical devices as needed.
• Complete work order paperwork.
• Perform in-process inspection per procedures.
• Maintain count and packaging duties as required.
• Participate in cross training to learn equipment/processes.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep area clean.
• Check tools for damage and safety prior to use.
• Suggest improvements to production and order processing.
• Assist training other team members.
• Follow safety rules and quality standards.

Position Title: Utility | Wage: $20.00 per hour | Shift: 1st | Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday)

QPS Employment Group has a great Utility position available at a company in St. Louis, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment
• Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts
• Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches
• Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using various manufacturing equipment to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blueprints
• Complete project work as needed involving the assembly of parts that require the use of hand tools, paint accessories and mechanical devices
• Complete work order paperwork
• Perform in-process inspection according to standard procedures
• Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
• Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
• Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use
• Make suggestions to improve production and order processing efficiency
• Assist with training other team members
• Follow safety rules and quality standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required
• Prior experience in a manufacturing industry preferred
• Excellent math skills
• Ability to understand drawing and blueprints
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
