Job summary

Wieland in Waterbury, CT is hiring a 1st Shift Slitting Assistant to support production and material handling on-site. The role starts at $23.00 per hour, with Monday–Friday 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm).

You will assist in slitting and tinning operations, organize the warehouse, and ensure safety and quality standards are followed. Responsibilities include providing materials to operators, packing per specs, and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with Sit Down Forklifts.
• Ability to read customer specifications and QA alerts.
• Commitment to established safety and company policies.
• Familiarity with banders and basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks safely and identify hazards in production areas.
• Support slitting and tinning operations as directed.
• Supply operators with materials and maintain warehouse organization.
• Pack material per customer specs and QA alerts.
• Keep work area clean and maintain equipment as required.
• Operate Sit Down forklifts safely on site.
