Wieland North America, Inc. in Waterbury, CT is hiring a 2nd Shift Slitting Operator to set up and operate slitter machines and monitor materials for safety and customer specs.

This onsite role requires mechanical inclination and hands-on operation with a strong emphasis on quality and safety. The position offers 2nd shift hours (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm), a weekly pay schedule, and a competitive hourly pay range with a small shift differential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience running coil slitters or other related machinery.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Familiarity with the use of micrometers and calipers.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitter machines and monitor material and machine parameters.
• Read, understand, and follow all work instructions for the equipment.
• Detect and report faulty operations or improper material.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and perform light maintenance on machines.
• Direct the work of other operators to maximize uptime, quality, and productivity.
• Move material using forklifts, transporters, cranes, and pallet jacks.
