Job summary

Wieland in Waterbury, CT is hiring a Slitter Helper to support the production of copper alloys on the 2nd shift. The role involves assisting the Operator in a Mill, Slitting or Annealing department, including packaging, handling and transportation of material, and machine-related tasks as directed.

This on-site position offers an hourly pay of $28.98 with a small shift differential, a 2nd shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

Ability to read and write English; maintain production records.
Able to pass required training and complete on-the-job training.
Reliable employment record with above-average attendance.
Ability to perform simple math (addition and subtraction).
Excellent decision-making and strong organizational skills.
Mechanical inclination; comfortable with small hand tools.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks safely and identify hazards in the production environment.
Adhere to Job Safety Analyses and complete required safety training for hourly production employees.
Uphold standards set forth by the management team.
Assist the Operator with assigned tasks.
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area.
Operate or assist with machines as directed by the Supervisor or Operator.
Assist with changing and cleaning work rolls and bearings.
