SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities related to receiving material, material handling, shipping and distribution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications throughout the material handling process.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces company policies and safety regulations.
• Assigns duties and expedites workflow as needed to fulfill external and internal customer expectations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and overall cost containment in areas of responsibilities.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time, attendance, and discipline records.
• Estimates, requisitions, and manages supplies needed for performance of department duties.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Supervises activities of workers.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
• Consistently looks for continuous improvement from employees.
• Tracks metrics related to department performance.
• All other duties as assigned
