Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a strategic and supportive individual to join our CNC Machinist team. This role will be responsible for leading team members to successfully complete daily production goals, document operational tasks, assist new employee onboarding and support the team through training, guidance, and coaching. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a positive work environment, promote a culture of teamwork and productivity while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure production pace is maintained to meet customer demands. Monitor team performance and productivity and provide regular feedback while seeking opportunities for process improvements
• Track and communicate parts shortages. Schedule and assign tasks to team members based on priorities and skill sets
• Set and track performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements, participating in root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
• Complete production logs, work orders, and other required paperwork accurately. Update work instructions. Document any issues, defects, or deviations from standard procedures. Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping, attendance, efficiency, turn backs, 5S, PMDP, maintaining the skills matrix, and record-keeping.
• Make recommendations to supervisor on employee performance. Maintain open and effective communication with team members and management. Provide direction and leadership to team members.
• Step into a supervisor role while the leader is out of the office
• Ensure team members adhere to quality standards and follow established procedures and ISO requirements. Participate in production and quality discussions. Conduct quality checks, inspections and document and report defects.
• Relay important information, updates, and announcements to the team. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with team members. Address issues and conflicts within the team and escalate complex problems to higher management when necessary.
• Participate in training programs to improve maintenance skills and product knowledge. Obtain and maintain IR certification/license for harness and equipment (forklift, scissors, and boom lift). Attend monthly EHS trainings. Follow all policies and procedures (i.e. report on time and ready to work - Start/Lunch/Breaks)
• Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors promptly. Follow 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Test PSI limit no greater than 30,000. Lift a maximum of 35 lbs for an individual and 70 lbs for a team lift.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing/lead roles or other fast paced operations
Core Competencies:
• Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally with hoist to be used on objects over 40 pounds.
• Standing: Standing is required in periods of up to three hours at a time.
• Hand Dexterity: Must be able to work with hand tools, screws and gauges, as well as operating buttons on controls.
• Verbal Communication: Must be capable of clear communication between co-workers and supervisor.
Preferences:
• Ability to read and understand the bill of materials and work instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings
• Demonstrated time management skills, strategic thinking, problem solving, and adaptability
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
• Proficient computer skills (i.e. log on credentials (SSO), JD Edwards, and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs
• Have the ablity to use and understand Mazak or Mazatrol Programs
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
This position will be based at our site in Ivyland, PA no travel.
