Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Propulsion Technician for an aerospace client in El Segundo. The role focuses on executing orbital-tube welding for satellite propulsion systems and performing fabrication, integration, and testing of space-flight hardware.

This is a 1st shift, 9/80 schedule (6:00 AM to 3:30 PM) with responsibilities including welding, assembly, testing, and verification of propulsion subassemblies, harness routing, and use of various tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of propulsion assembly experience on high reliability aerospace products.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, harness wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• 5+ years of Aerospace experience with orbital tube welding.
• 2+ years installing thermal system components in aerospace.
• 2+ years of harness assembly and routing.

Responsibilities

• Perform orbital tube welding for propulsion subassemblies and final tank closeouts.
• Assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters, and thermocouples on spacecraft assemblies per specs.
• Visually inspect propulsion assemblies per drawings and specs.
• Operate materials handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, aerial lifts) as required.
• Use orbital welding machines, tack welders, drill presses, grinders, and other tools.

We are looking for a Propulsion Technician to join one of our aerospace clients in El Segundo. Their main responsibility is to execute orbital‑tube welding for satellite propulsion systems. In addition, the technician will carry out various fabrication, integration, and testing tasks for space‑flight hardware and related support equipment.

This is a 1st Shift, 9/80 position, 6AM - 3:30PM.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform Orbital tube welding for the fabrication of tube subassemblies and final propulsion tank closeouts
• Assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters, non‑flight thermocouples and heaters on spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
• Visually inspect propulsion assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, and test procedure
• Operate various materials handling equipment including forklifts, overheads cranes, aerial lift equipment, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, truck/tractor trailer combinations and other GSE as required
• Capable of operating a wide range of tools: orbital tube welding machines, tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, power and hand tools

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in propulsion assembly on high reliability products (preferably aerospace products)
• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to interpret drawing, schematics, harness wiring diagrams, internal and external specifications
• Experience with using various hand tools and power tools - 5+ years of Aerospace experience
• 5+ years of orbital tube welding experience
• 2+ years performing thermal system component installation in aerospace
• 2+ years of harness assembly and routing
