Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Propulsion Technician in El Segundo, CA to perform orbital‑tube welding for satellite propulsion systems and support fabrication, integration, and testing of space hardware.

The role is 2nd shift (3PM–12AM) on a 9/80 schedule. Requires 4+ years in propulsion assembly, aerospace experience, and ability to read complex drawings; HS diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of propulsion assembly experience (preferably aerospace).
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to internal specifications.
• Experience with using hand tools and power tools; 5+ years in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Perform orbital‑tube welding for satellite propulsion subassemblies and final tank closeouts.
• Assemble and install thermistors/heaters on spacecraft assemblies by following blueprints and specs.
• Visually inspect propulsion assemblies to drawings and test procedures.
• Operate material handling equipment and GSE as required.
• Capable of using orbital tube welding machines, tack welders, drills, grinders, and hand tools.

We are looking for a Propulsion Technician to join one of our aerospace clients in El Segundo. Their main responsibility is to execute orbital‑tube welding for satellite propulsion systems. In addition, the technician will carry out various fabrication, integration, and testing tasks for space‑flight hardware and related support equipment.

This is a 2nd Shift, 9/80 position, 3PM - 12AM.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform Orbital tube welding for the fabrication of tube subassemblies and final propulsion tank closeouts
• Assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters, non‐flight thermocouples and heaters on spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
• Visually inspect propulsion assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, and test procedure
• Operate various materials handling equipment including forklifts, overheads cranes, aerial lift equipment, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, truck/tractor trailer combinations and other GSE as required
• Capable of operating a wide range of tools: orbital tube welding machines, tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, power and hand tools

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in propulsion assembly on high reliability products (preferably aerospace products)
• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to interpret drawing, schematics, harness wiring diagrams, internal and external specifications
• Experience with using various hand tools and power tools - 5+ years of Aerospace experience
• 5+ years of orbital tube welding experience
• 2+ years performing thermal system component installation in aerospace
• 2+ years of harness assembly and routing
