Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join one of our aerospace clients in El Segundo. This is a 2nd shift, 9/80 position, 3PM - 12AM.

Responsibilities include mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis, interpreting blueprints, and using precision tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers. You will perform inspections, ensure quality, document non-conformances, and perform soldering and rework as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of experience following written and verbal work instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• 1+ year Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products.
• Experience in a Clean Room environment.
• Electronics and PCB assembly experience.

Position Responsibilities:

• Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
• Assemble Electro‐Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
• Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
• Perform visual inspection of Electro‐Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly and test procedures
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
• Document non‐conformances and associated rework/repair
• Soldering and reworking of through‑hole and SMT components
• Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• More than 1 year of experience following written and verbal work instructions
• Ability to use steady hand-eye coordination to work with small parts - More than 1 year of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
• More than 1 year of experience in Electro-- Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
• More than 1 year of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
• More than 1 year of experience working in a Clean Room environment
• More than 1 year of experience in electronics and electro-mechanical and PCB assemblies
• More than 1 year of experience mixing epoxy materials
• More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
• More than 1 year of experience using a Microscope to inspect parts
• More than 1 year of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
• More than 1 year of experience in J-STD-001 Soldering
• More than 1 year of experience using calipers, a force gauge and/or tweezers
• More than 1 year of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
