Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is hiring a 1st shift Material Handler in Grand Rapids to move raw materials, finished products, and equipment across the facility using a forklift. The role operates on-site with heavy machinery and may involve cranes or hoists.

Starting pay ranges from $21 to $25 per hour. Responsibilities include stocking and selecting products, loading/unloading trucks, processing orders, and performing cycle counts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to read/write English (French in Quebec).
• Lift up to 70 lbs, 100 ft.
• Basic math skills essential.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.
• Must remain seated and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
• Safety-minded with housekeeping discipline.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office usage.
• Willing to cross-train in all warehouse areas.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and products using forklift and other equipment.
• Stock and pick products per inventory plan.
• Load/unload trucks and verify items.
• Process orders and may cut orders with Kaltenbach saw.
• Record cycle counts and inspect material quality.
• Complete paperwork per work instructions when required.
• Maintain safety initiatives and 6S on site.
• Support other duties on the warehouse floor as needed.
• Remains on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
