Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Houston, TX, to assist with preventive maintenance and electrical, electronic and mechanical repairs in the Coatings Division. The role includes basic metal fabrication, PPE compliance, and learning plant equipment with safety training requirements.

You will work under supervision, perform lock-out/tag-out training, and support improvements while documenting labor and materials. Domestic travel up to 2% may be required.

Qualifications

• Be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks, aerial platforms and bridge cranes after training.
• Willingness to perform overtime as needed (1–2 shifts).

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical work.
• Learn basic metal fabrication.
• Record labor and materials used on repairs.
• Communicate with maintenance and production teams.
• Operate gauging equipment (tape measures, micrometers, dial calipers).
