Job summary

Urban-Farmer-Inc., Manteno, IL is seeking a 1st Shift Maintenance Lead to supervise technicians and maintain production equipment for peak efficiency and minimal downtime.

You will develop preventive maintenance programs, analyze reliability data, ensure GMP safety compliance, and document work orders and inventories.

This role requires leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on safety.

Qualifications

• Must have supervisory experience in maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics systems.
• Familiarity with GMP and food safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all production equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and address potential issues before they result in downtime.
• Coordinate and perform corrective maintenance activities to resolve equipment breakdowns promptly.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and implement strategies for improving reliability and reducing downtime.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct safety training for maintenance personnel and promote a safety-first culture within the team.
• Manage spare parts inventory to ensure timely availability of critical components for maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to source quality parts at competitive prices.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory.
• Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance metrics, and resource utilization.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the maintenance department.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
