Job summary

Wieland, a global copper and alloy manufacturer, seeks a Maintenance Technician for its Wheeling, IL on-site facility. You will troubleshoot electromechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on the production line.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, with proficiency in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic diagrams and SCADA/VFD/PLC systems. A high school diploma or higher in Mechatronics/Automation is expected.

Qualifications

High school diploma.
Degree in Mechatronics or Automation is required.
Three years of experience in industrial facilities.
Experience maintaining or repairing industrial automated manufacturing equipment.
Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams/drawings.
Familiarity with troubleshooting AC and DC voltage.
Knowledge of SCADA, VFD, servo motors, drives, and PLCs.
Knowledge of testing tools: digital multimeters, thermographers, vibration analyzers, ultrasonic leak detectors.
Good computer and data entry skills.
Able to multitask multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Interface with machine operators to understand and determine the cause of machine issues.
Ensure operation of machinery by performing preventive maintenance.
Proficient in using hand and power tools; supply own toolbox.
Disassemble defective components for repair using hoists and forklifts.
Fabricate/repair machine parts using mills, lathes, drills, welders.
Adhere to OSHA/NFPA regulations and PPE requirements.
Coordinate with departments, supervisor, and manager.
