Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems in New Hill, NC is seeking a dependable 1st Shift General Laborer to support operations at our composting and organics recycling facility. You will work outdoors, maintain a clean and safe environment, and participate in production and ground maintenance tasks.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with potential overtime. Starting pay is $18–$20 per hour, plus full benefits and opportunities for advancement within a growing company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial facilities, construction, landscaping, agriculture, recycling operations, or general labor environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep grounds, ramps, screening areas, and shop facilities clean and organized.
• Perform weed eating, shoveling, painting, and other grounds maintenance tasks.
• Clean and prepare processing bays and production areas.
• Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities.
• Support maintenance technicians with repair and upkeep projects.
• Organize tools, parts, and supplies.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain accountability for company-issued tools and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facility.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
