Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems is seeking a dependable 1st Shift General Laborer to support operations at our composting and organics recycling facility. This hands-on role requires outdoor work, adherence to safety procedures, and a strong work ethic.

You’ll keep work areas clean, assist with maintenance, and help maintain production spaces. The position offers a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a production environment.
• Physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Keep grounds, ramps, screening areas, and shop facilities clean and organized.
• Perform weed eating, shoveling, painting, and other grounds maintenance tasks.
• Clean and prepare processing bays and production areas.
• Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities.
• Support maintenance technicians with repair and upkeep projects.
• Organize tools, parts, and supplies.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and SOPs.
• Maintain accountability for company-issued tools and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facility.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

McGill Environmental Systems is seeking a dependable 1st Shift General Laborer to support operations at our composting and organics recycling facility. Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs. Shift schedules may be adjusted to meet operational demands and company business needs.

• Comfortable performing physically demanding work in an outdoor industrial environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to work around dust, dirt, mud, noise, and odors
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance

Pre-Employment Requirements
