Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Cusseta, AL is seeking a Forklift Operator/Material Handler for 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM). You will operate forklifts safely, move materials, and support inventory and loading activities in our ESOP-enabled environment.

We require 18+ years old, ability to stand 8–10 hours, and English proficiency to follow instructions. Prior material handling experience is preferred; HS diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and perform essential tasks.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
• One month related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous material handling work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements relevant to this job.
• Move levers and press pedals to drive forklift and control movement of lifting devices.
• Position forks or lifting devices under or around pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting devices.
• Inventory materials on the work floor and supply materials as needed.
• Weigh materials or products and record weights on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Load or unload materials onto or off pallets or lifting devices.
• Recharge batteries or replace liquefied gas tanks.
• Work with a sense of urgency to meet customer needs and deadlines.
