Job summary

Rich Products Corporation, a family‑owned food company, seeks a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to keep plant equipment running safely and efficiently on 1st shift in Niles, IL. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic issues, troubleshoot PLC/SCADA systems, and perform preventative maintenance with strong attention to GMP standards.

Qualified candidates bring 3–5 years of maintenance in regulated manufacturing, SAP/CMMS experience, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in food processing or regulated manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, pumps, and drives.
• Working knowledge of PLC logic troubleshooting.
• Experience using SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and work in a fast paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic failures on production equipment.
• Utilize P&IDs, assembly drawings, schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools to determine root cause.
• Troubleshoot PLC and SLC systems, motor starters, VFDs, SCRs, and control circuits.
• Restore equipment to safe, reliable operating condition with minimal downtime.
• Document maintenance findings and corrective actions in SAP or CMMS systems.
• Create, update, and close work orders accurately in SAP.
• Participate in safety initiatives and follow lockout tagout procedures.
