Job summary

Kemps in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, is hiring for a 1st Shift Order Picker & Truck Loader. The position starts at $27.43/hr with a rotating shift schedule, including 4am or 6am starts and 10–12 hour shifts. You will split time between selecting orders and loading trucks, in a cooler environment.

Qualifications

• Able to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings (drug, background, criminal).
• Able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and move cases up to 6-8 high.
• Work in a wet environment and in temperatures 35–40°F.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Split role: two days a week as an order selector and two days a week loading trucks.
• Safely operate material handling equipment in cooler environment.
• Ensure accuracy and safety in order picking and loading processes.

Description

Kemps has immediate job openings for fast paced and motivated warehouse operators. In this role this person will spend 2 days a week as an order selector, and 2 days a week loading trucks. Our warehouse operators are responsible for safely operating various material and handling equipment and machinery within our cooler environment.

Requirements

• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal
• Effective verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach and bend virtually the entire shift
• Must be ableto lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is necessary and manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high
• Must be able to work in a wet environment and work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 35–40 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
• May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals
