Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a 1st Shift Assembler for our Ellsworth, KS facility. The role runs Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

The position involves following the daily build schedule, assembling parts by hand or with tools, and reading engineering prints to ensure quality and accuracy. Candidates should be detail-oriented, a strong team player, and capable of safely using hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; however, attention to detail and teamwork are helpful.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools; read engineering prints and use a tape measure.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license and follow all safety regulations.
• Embrace Lean Manufacturing culture and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Follow and complete the daily build schedule.
• Assemble parts by hand or with hand/power tools, fastening as required.
• Read engineering prints and use a tape measure as needed.
• Tend machines and use tools on the assembly line to perform fastening operations.
• Work at multiple stations as production needs change and models vary.
• Support quality improvements and report issues to the assembly/shipping manager.
