Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a 1st Shift Assembler for our Ellsworth, KS facility. The role runs Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

You will read engineering prints, use tape measures, and assemble parts on the line using hand and power tools. Ideal candidates embrace Lean Manufacturing and teamwork, with the ability to obtain a forklift license and follow all safety regulations.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training is required; however the following traits are helpful.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team player with good attendance.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and read engineering prints.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
• Compliance with Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow and complete daily build schedule.
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together by hand, or using hand tools or portable power tools.
• Read and interpret engineering prints and use a tape measure as required.
• Tend machines and use tools, such as impact wrenches, to perform fastening operations on the assembly line.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require.
• Work on line where tasks vary as different model moves along line or at a fixed assembly station.
• Monitor assembly tasks and recommend quality improvement initiatives to the assembly/shipping manager.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow and complete daily build schedule
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together by hand, or using hand tools or portable power tools.
• Read and interpret engineering prints and use a tape measure as required.
• Tend machines and use tools, such as impact wrenches, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require.
• Work on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line or at a fixed assembly station.
