Job Overview

The classroom teacher is responsible for teaching academic and social skills to elementary school students, providing instruction, and managing the learning environment. The position reports to the Principal.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
2. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' needs.
3. Attend professional meetings, conferences, and workshops.
4. Enforce rules for behavior and order.
5. Evaluate students' performance, behavior, and social development.
6. Create lesson plans following curriculum guidelines.
7. Collaborate with parents, guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
8. Communicate professionally.
9. Build collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff.
10. Follow policies and regulations of the School Board.
11. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher with IN Teaching License, Charter Permit, or Emergency Permit.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of curriculum design, teaching methods, and training measurement.
• Proficiency with technology and educational platforms.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Compliance with IDOE Office of Early Childhood requirements (Drug screening, TB test, Fingerprinting).
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
