Job description

Part-time positions are available with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children
  2. Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child's daily milestones
  3. Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
  4. Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center or in nearby locations

Qualifications:

Candidates must pass required background checks and meet minimum education and experience requirements:

  • 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings (preferred)
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children

Must meet state requirements to be Teacher Qualified in IL:

  • 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college with 6 semester hours in child care/development courses OR
  • 1 year (1560 hours) of child development experience plus 30 semester hours in related courses OR
  • Completion of approved credential programs like CDA

Physical Requirements:

This role requires compliance with health, safety, and immunization requirements. You will work in person at an early education center, providing supervision and care in accordance with policies and laws to ensure children’s safety.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $18.50 to $22.60, depending on experience, education, certifications, location, and other factors.
