Position Overview

Bellwood Developmental Center is seeking creative and dependable Full-Time Life Skills / Developmental Training Instructors to join our dynamic, caring, and progressive team for our new day program in Berkeley, Illinois. This role offers Monday-Friday day hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals with intellectual disabilities enjoy a full life.

Responsibilities
  • Support and oversee staff in the day program setting for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Provide direct support and life skills training to individuals served.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan services and activities.
  • Assist with community integration and promote quality of life.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a social service or related field.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Meet Healthcare Worker Background Check requirements.
  • Valid driver's license.
Position Requirements
  • Desire to positively impact people's lives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Availability for full or part-time hours during weekdays (M-F, 8am-4pm).
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and assisting with personal care.
