Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Prekindergarten-Grade 2 Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction and targeted interventions under the lead teacher. You will facilitate small-group learning and provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports to help students master content and develop a love of learning.

This grant-funded role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, engagement with diverse learners, and a strong commitment to a joyful, engaging classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Education: at least 48 college hours or bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in classroom or volunteer settings.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and instructional practices.
• Ability to work with young learners across different group sizes and needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under teachers’ guidance.
• Maintain student records alongside classroom teachers.
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the lead teacher.
• Facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups.
• Monitor learning and provide feedback and support.
• Communicate students’ progress weekly with students and families.
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Help shape a positive school culture and community.
• Attend weekly meetings and complete after-school duties as needed.
• Minimum 40+ hours spent at school per week.
