Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction in Prekindergarten-Grade 2. You will facilitate small-group learning, provide academic and social-emotional supports, and collaborate with lead teachers to help all students reach mastery and love learning.

This grant-funded role requires 40+ hours on campus and offers an hourly wage between $16.33 and $23.58, with benefits including paid family leave, tuition reimbursement, and mental health support.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours or bachelor’s degree required
• Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting
• Knowledge: Basic knowledge of early childhood development and instructional practices
• Skills: Ability to adapt to diverse learner needs and support both group and individual learning

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the direction of the lead teacher, ensuring all students can access grade-level learning
• Actively facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on student data and teacher planning
• Monitor student learning and needs during instruction and provide feedback and support
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives
• Help shape a positive school culture and a productive learning environment
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect
• Host tutoring sessions to meet students’ needs
• Participate in weekly meetings and after-school duties
• Engage in district, school and personal learning and development
• Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
• Additional responsibilities may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school
