Job summary

BAMSI in Framingham, MA is hiring a Residential Counselor - MAP to support adults in group living environments. The role requires MAP certification or a plan to obtain it within 3 months, plus strong communication skills and a valid driver's license.

You will teach ADLs, implement treatment plans under clinician guidance, and document care while transporting residents to appointments and activities. This is a non-exempt, hourly position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• MAP certification is required for this position; candidates without current certification must obtain it within 3 months.
• High school diploma or GED required; direct care experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility.
• Strong communication skills in English; trauma-informed care mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE).
• Teach ADLs and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans under clinician guidance.
• Administer and supervise medications per MAP guidelines.
• Transport residents to appointments and activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home and complete timely documentation.

What You’ll Do:

Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration. Key responsibilities include:

• MAP (Medication Administration Program) certificationis required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; direct care experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
