Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor in Massachusetts to support adults in group living settings. You will help residents develop daily living skills, manage medications under MAP guidelines, and participate in creating individualized treatment plans.

This role emphasizes trauma-informed care and collaborative team support. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for MAP certification, with training provided by BAMSI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; direct care experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to assist with mobility.
• Strong English communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE).
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
