Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor - MAP to provide rehabilitative support for adults in Group Living Environments, focusing on daily living skills and community integration.

Certification in MAP is required or training will be provided with a 3-month path to certification; ongoing documentation and compassionate, trauma-informed care are essential. This part-time role offers meaningful work in a nonprofit setting with generous time off and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE).
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

Title: Residential Counselor - MAP

Pay Range: $20 - $23.75

Schedule: 20 Hours Wednesday & Thursday 11 PM - 9 PM

FLSA: Non-Exempt

What You’ll Do:

• MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; direct care experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
