Job summary

Targa Resources in Texas is seeking a Plant Operator/Technician to review and monitor plant operations, optimize production, and ensure data specs while working safely and troubleshooting mechanical equipment such as natural gas engines, compressors, and pumps.

Responsibilities include installing pumps, motors, and valves, operating cryogenic systems, collecting data, performing routine maintenance, and completing permits and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in midstream/plant ops.
• Able to work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, weekends/holidays.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work in changing climate conditions.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor plant operation/processes to optimize quality and production per specs; troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
• Install pumps, motors, and valves and perform general maintenance as needed.
• Operate cryogenics plant, stabilizer, amine and glycol treatment systems.
• Collect data readings and monitor plant equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance on compressors and install equipment as required.
• Complete work permits, lockout/tagout docs and participate in tailgate/safety sessions.
• Perform routine shutdowns/startups and follow emergency procedures.
• Act as relief operator as needed.
