Job summary

Targa Resources in Cotulla, TX is seeking a technician to review and monitor plant operation and processes, optimizing quality and production to meet data specifications. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills on natural gas equipment and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities include operating gas plant/pipeline equipment, adjusting controls, and inspecting systems. Preference for 5+ years in oil & gas with SCADA experience and OSHA awareness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in natural gas processing, midstream operations, or related oil and gas plant operations.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate and troubleshoot gas plant systems, including compression, dehydration, treating, separation, and associated equipment.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts and some weekends/holidays.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to call outs as needed.
• Follow PPE guidelines and work around H2S.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating natural gas plant and pipeline equipment.
• Adjust controls to optimize production, quality, and reliability.
• Inspect equipment and controls to detect malfunctions and schedule repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control issues.
• Monitor operations and respond to emergencies or upsets.
• Participate in safe work practices and safety culture.
• Monitor gas gathering systems via SCADA and inform supervisor of issues.
• Record operating conditions such as pressures, temperatures, and fuel use.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
