The Global Business Unit Director is responsible for managing a team of multiple global program managers, Customer Focus Team leads, or a group of customer sub-divisions, or managing a significant or strategic account in our growing Connectivity and Cloud Solutions business. Additionally, this role provides collaborative support to Sales and Business Development for new and competitive business quotes for manufacturing, product solutions, repair, or design services.
The Director is responsible for managing the overall relationship with a group of customers, including:
Typically managing a customer portfolio or sub-division with & $100M+ annual revenue, involving complex relationships with interfaces to various customer sites.
The Director acts as the primary executive interface on all commercial matters, operating within the objectives set by the division. Provides supervision to subordinate staff involved in supporting each customer, including planning, policy formation, and management, with discretion to subordinates.
Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-site and global basis, with overall commercial accountability for global Business Units. Investigates and resolves unusual conditions with long-term implications, develops new strategies, policies, and practices, and participates in strategic planning with other senior managers. Responsible for planning, budgeting, and cost management, making final decisions to ensure objectives are met.
Directs and controls activities of cross-functional teams through local managers, assigns objectives, reviews performance, and approves compensation. Interacts regularly with executives and major customers, involving negotiations and influencing senior managers. May represent the organization publicly at events.
Acts as the primary interface with customers for managing programs to meet objectives, planning and monitoring activities to ensure delivery and quality standards. Coordinates program meetings and manages ongoing communication, customer issues, and complaints, advocating for customer needs and participating in forecasting, planning, and contract development. Monitors financial impacts and provides performance reports for reviews.
