Position Overview

Director of Business Development – Sports & Leisure at Genuine Foods | Remote (with travel, including evenings & weekends)

Genuine Foods seeks a charismatic and driven Director of Business Development – Sports & Leisure to lead strategic growth across entertainment venues, sports arenas, zoos, cultural institutions, theaters, and convention centers. The role involves developing new partnerships, expanding market presence, and delivering compelling proposals to high-profile clients in the sports and live entertainment sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Pursue new business opportunities through networking, outreach, and partnerships. Build trust with stakeholders through a positive, professional presence.
  • Strategic Prospecting: Conduct market research, attend industry events, and visit clients to uncover opportunities and build a pipeline.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare and respond to RFPs, ensuring strategic positioning.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms.
  • Financial Analysis: Collaborate internally to assess financial viability and align services with profitability goals.
  • Presentation Delivery: Prepare and deliver detailed business proposals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Culinary, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyze data to guide prospecting and proposals.
  • CRM & Forecasting: Maintain accurate pipeline records and provide sales forecasts.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of consultative sales experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience selling contract foodservice management solutions to sports, entertainment, or institutional venues.
  • Proven success in securing complex multimillion-dollar contracts.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers and close deals nationally and globally.
  • Experience managing RFPs/RFIs and developing tailored responses.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and relationship skills.
  • Self-starter with organizational skills, creativity, and resilience.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
