Job summary

The Children’s Guild in Baltimore is seeking a Classroom Aide to provide dedicated one-on-one support to students with special needs. You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to implement IEP goals and help students thrive in a structured classroom setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience with students with special needs or autism, strong communication skills, and a patient, empathetic approach to care and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher education is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience with students with special needs or autism.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; patience and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Engage in family outreach and school-based activities.
• Participate in professional development and training.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to implement IEP goals.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Document student progress and behavioral observations.
