Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Aide II to assist in a special education classroom under supervision. The role includes providing individual or group support, assisting with behavioral and functional living skills, and helping with various related duties.

Work may involve supporting students in life skills, academic tasks, and health-related activities, including assisting with classroom equipment and mobility as needed. Training and assignments align with IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Any experience that would demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Paraeducator aides may be assigned to a variety of special education programs or individual students who require adult support based upon their IEPs.
• Duties may include assisting students with disabilities in boarding/de-boarding buses, helping in general education classrooms, and providing attendant services as needed.
• Supports instruction in health, hygiene, and life skills, and helps record student progress toward goals.
