Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant II in Special Education to assist teachers with instructional activities and record-keeping in a Title I and SPED context.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, delivering varied teaching methods, and supporting students individually or in groups while maintaining classroom order and collaborating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: 48 semester or 60 quarter units.
• High school diploma required.
• 1 year of instructional activities or student guidance experience.
• Two years as paraeducator aide or related duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in planning, developing lesson outlines and teaching aids.
• Present subject matter using diverse methods; support students individually or in groups.
• Administer and grade exams and assignments; monitor progress and refer concerns.
• Prepare classrooms and equipment; order supplies and maintain bulletin boards.
• Maintain student discipline in various settings (playground, lunchroom, halls, study areas).
