Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Aide II in the Special Education program at Reed High School. The role involves assisting teaching staff in a variety of instructional activities and providing individual or group support based on students’ functional living and academic skills and/or behavioral needs.

The incumbent may provide attendant services to students with disabilities and will perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Any education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in various classroom activities.
• Move students weighing 50-80 pounds daily and repetitively while following safety procedures.
• Follow behavior plans as outlined in students' IEPs and assist in instruction and classroom management.
