Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools at Hollingsworth Academy in Vancouver, Washington, is hiring for a Special Education 1:1 Paraeducator Bus Duty position. This temporary, part-time role supports special education students on a home-to-school route, assisting the driver, and completing related paperwork.

190 days/year with after-school and early-release adjustments. The position is 0.25 hours daily (3:00–3:15 PM) plus 0.25 hours on early-release days (12:00–12:15 PM).

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to supervise students, particularly in transport and classroom settings.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and district records.
• Flexibility to assist in varying duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Assist the bus driver in loading/unloading wheelchair-bound students as needed.
• Help establish and maintain a positive climate for students during transport.
• Ensure safety of students during transport and emergencies.
• Complete daily student behavior forms and submit to supervisor.
• Assist with implementing student behavior plans per IEP.
• Attend conferences with administrators, parents, and students when necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
