Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools Carson ES is seeking a Paraprofessional (Special Needs/1:1/Units) to support students under the supervision of a certified staff member. The role involves assisting with reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and classroom activities to help meet instructional goals.

The position requires an Associate's Degree or higher, Ohio Educational Aide Permit eligibility, and a willingness to work with students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher or higher education equivalent.
• High School diploma or equivalent required or demonstrated.
• Passing of the Parapro Assessment examination as required by federal/state guidelines.
• Prior experience working with children desirable.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Educational Aide Permit issued by the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic skills.
• Support classroom staff in implementing instructional activities.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Contribute to classroom behavior management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Provide non-instructional support such as supervision during meals, bus duty and activity transitions.
