Cincinnati Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional (Special Needs/1:1/Units) to support students in a 1:1 or small-group setting at Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves assisting certified staff, reinforcing instruction, and supervising students in various settings.

Starting immediately, expect 7 hours daily during the school year, with duties ranging from classroom support to field trip supervision and materials preparation. CPS emphasizes equity and rigorous, compassionate service.

Formación

• Associate's Degree or higher.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Passing of the Parapro Assessment examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience working with children desirable.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Educational Aide Permit issued by the State of Ohio

Responsabilidades

• Communicate effectively, problem solve and work independently.
• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
• Assist professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Follow safety rules and regulations for all students, including those with disabilities.
• Support guidance, pupil services staff or building administration as needed.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
