Job summary

Building Connections Academy in Martinez, CA is hiring a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences.

In this in-person role, you’ll help students develop communication, social, and life skills while fostering a safe, supportive learning environment.

The position includes paid RBT training, ongoing professional development, and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• RBT certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s in related field preferred)
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• Required immunizations including MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hep B, and TB clearance within 4 years

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and educational support in a school setting.
• Implement individualized programs and collect data to track progress.
• Teach communication, social, play, and self-help skills.
• Encourage independence and build positive relationships with students.
• Maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment
