Job summary

Olympia School District is seeking a 1:1 paraeducator to support one student with individualized instruction and supervision. The position runs Fridays only, 8:15 am to 2:45 pm, for 180 days per year (plus 10 holidays) and includes vacation leave, paid holidays, and additional compensation per the CBA.

Responsibilities include assisting certificated staff with IEP goals, preparing instructional materials, data collection, and maintaining confidential student records.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of approved paraeducator training or college credits.
• Criminal background/fingerprint clearance.
• Prior experience with school-aged children who qualify for special education.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with IEP plan implementation and related activities.
• Assist in creating educational materials to support student progress toward IEP goals.
• Collect data to evaluate students’ progress.
• Administer first aid and address health care needs as required.
• Maintain student files and confidentiality of records.
• Monitor safety and provide necessary accommodations and modifications.
• Collaborate with teams and participate in trainings to improve skills.
