Job summary

The Olympia School District seeks a 1:1 Student Specific Paraeducator to assist certificated staff with IEP plan development, behavior support plans, and related OT/PT goals in the least restrictive environment.

The role includes creating educational materials, collecting progress data, ensuring student safety, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with a team to promote positive learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, and one of: ETS Parapro, Paraeducator training, 72 quarter or 48 semester credits, or associate degree.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
• Experience with school-age children in special education.
• Must complete health-related trainings as required by OSD.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with IEP plan implementation including behavior plans and related goals.
• Assist in creating instructional materials to support student progress toward IEP goals.
• Collect data to help evaluate student progress and inform instruction.
• Administer basic first aid and address health care needs as needed.
• Maintain student files and support confidentiality of records.
• Monitor students to ensure a safe learning environment and implement necessary accommodations.
