Job summary

The Olympia School District seeks a Paraeducator-Special Education Preschool to support students with general and special education needs across multiple settings. You will assist certificated staff with implementing IEP plans, data collection, and progress reporting, while promoting a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and clearance; experience with young children in special education is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ETS exam or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or an Associate degree required.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
• Experience with young children in special education preferred.
• Participation in health trainings; First Aid and CPR may be required.
• Willingness to obtain Type II License or Food Handler's Permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with implementing IEP-related plans and goals.
• Create educational materials to support student progress toward IEP objectives.
• Collect and communicate data to help evaluate student progress.
• Administer basic first aid and address health care needs as required.
• Maintain student files to support development of educational programs.
• Monitor students to provide a safe learning environment and accommodate curriculum.
